My Life as a University Student: The Beginning: Part 1

My Life as a University Student: The Beginning: Part 1

It’s not easy for special needs person to look for a perfect university to continue their study. At the beginning I couldn’t decide on where I should continue my study. I was confused to choose between private or state university, but at the end, I decided to take the exams for both of them. I didn’t pass the state university exam. However, Alhamdullillah, I got accepted in a private university called Sampoerna University (or SU for short).
There are so many things that I like about this campus. First, SU is located inside a building, that makes it very different from other campuses. So instead of moving from building to building, I just move from floor to floor, and it’s convenient for me. I feel safe and not confuse. Second, the lecturers and friends are very nice to me. They accept me the way I am. The university has had experiences with special needs students before. One or them is my friend Kak Adikki, who had just graduated (So you see, a person with special needs is able to get an university degree). Third, this campus provides tutorial program who helps student who don’t understand a subject.
To help my study, there is an academic advisor. He is a lecturer who helps me to manage my study and assist me solving my academic problem. There is also a student counselor (psychologist) who can help you with your non-academic problems. SU also has plenty of student activities. I myself join choir and Japanese Club.
The location of the campus is not far from my house. So my parents urged me to take Gojek. At first I was nervous, but then I get used to it. I feel convenient because I don’t have to wait long (I used to have a driver to pick me up, but I had to wait for sometimes).
Entering university is a new challenge for me. I find lots of new lessons which are different. But I’m determined to conquer my fear and be open-minded with new lessons.

Makan Malam Best Buddies

Makan Malam Best Buddies

Setelah acara selesai, aku berfoto bersama Chef Juna.
