My
Vacation in Hong Kong
When I was in the 7th grade, my parents
took me and my sister to Hong Kong for vacation. It was what my father promised
us if our grades in exams were good. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights.
My sister and I were very exicted. We had wanted to go there.
We flew with Malaysia Airlline. The
flight was at 5’o clock in the morning, so we woke up and got ready at 2’o
clock in the morning. I did not feel sleepy at all because I was too excited
that we were going. We had to report ourselves at the Soekarno Hatta
International Airport at 3’o clock.
It was our first time to fly using
Malaysia Airline. So we were surprised when we found TV attached in front of
our seats . My sister, Lila, immediately turned it on and watched a cartoon
movie. But I decided to play my Nintendo DS instead. It was
a long trip so our parents allowed us to take our gadget with us.
Three hours later, we landed at International Airport Malaysia. It was only a
transit. We got in to another Malaysia Airlines plane again to get to Hong Kong.
The trip was 6 hours, so it wa a long flight for us.
Finally, we landed in Hong Kong.
Before we went to the hotel, my father took us for breakfast. It was our first
Hong Kong meal. Afterwards, we took a taxi to the hotel. We stayed at Hollywood
Hotel, Hong Kong Disneyland resort. This hotel had many hidden Mickeys. It is a
game for the hotel guests. Even the elevator had Mickey’s voice. It said these words: “Welcome to the seventh floor,
haha!.” It was hillarious. My sister and I laughed everytime we heard it.
We did not stay long in our bedroom
because my mother had a date. Her name is kak Pauli. She was a Hong Kong
citizen. She was my mother’s student when she studied Indonesian. So we could
talk to her in Indonesian. We went to Tsim Tsat Tsui by MRT to meet her.
Kak Pauli took us to a restaurant. It
was crowded but she had reserved a table so we did not have to wait long. She
ordered food for us. We trusted her because we could not read the menu. It is
in Chinese. But an accident happened. When we had the soup, suddenly kak Pauli
remembered that the soup had pork in it. So we stopped eating. Luckily the
other meal were chicken and duck so we still could have our dinner.
After dinner, kak Paulie showed us some
of Hong Kong tourist-attracted places, like Cowloon Mosque - the biggest mosque
in Hong Kong, clock tower, Victoria Harbour, and boardwalk that has names of
Chinese celebrities written. There was also the statue of Bruce Lee – the kung fu
legend. My father and I had our pictures with it. It was midnight when we returned
to the hotel.
The next day, we went to Disneyland.
First we went to Tomorrowland and got on Space Mountain. It is a roller-coaster
ride. I liked it, allthough it made me dizzy. My sister, however, did not like
it. Then, we went to Buzz Lightyear’s Astro
Blasters. We had fun beating Zurg and the other enemies of Buzz. Buzz is the
hero charachter in a movie called Toy Story. Afterwards, we had our picture taken with Buzz Lightyear.
Next, we went to Adventure Land. There
was Tarzan’s Treehouse. It is a treehouse that supposed to be Tarzan’s house –
like in the movie. There were equipments used by Jane’s father, Tarzan’s
craddle when he was a baby, Tarzan’s parents photos, and statues of Tarzan and
Jane. It was like being in the movie. After that, we went to Fantasyland to see

and Mickey’s Philarmagic.
Next stop was Toy Story land. My father
and Lila took a ride on Slinky Dog Spin, while my mother and I went to the
Barrel of Fun. I wanted to take my
picture with Jessie – one of the characters of Toy Story. We had to queue to do
this because there were many people wanted the same thing as me.
Afterwards we went to Fantasyland to
see It’s a small world. The attraction is
almost like Istana Boneka in Dufan, Ancol. Then, we went to Main Street USA to buy
souvenirs. We were tired but after showered in the hotel, we returned to
Disneyland again. We wanted to watch a fireworks show called DISNEY IN THE
STARS. The fireworks was awsome that we wanted to watch it again. We had never
seen a fireworks like that before.
We had our dinner in the hotel. But
before that, we took a picture with Mickey. He gave us chef hats that had Mickey’s
autograph.
On the third day, we went to Madame
Tussaud’s museum. It is a wax museum. It has statues of celebrities made by
wax. It is a famous museum and located in many countries. Hong Kong is one of
the countries that has it. It is in the
upperside of Hongkong so to reach the museum we had to take a tram. We took lots
of pictures with famous people and celebrities like Pierce Brosnan who played
as James Bond, Jackie Chan, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Einstein, Picasso,
Marylin Monroe and David Beckham.
In the afternoon, we went back to
Disneyland again. We took a ride on Winnie the Pooh’s Hunny pots at Fantasyland,
took picture with Cinderella and Belle. My father and Lila went to Buzz
Lightyear’s Astro Blasters again. Then we went to Grizzly Gulch because my father
wanted to go in The Grizzle Mountain Runaway Mine Cars again. In the evening we
had dinner in the Mainstreet and watched the fireworks again.
The next day was time to leave
Disneyland and headed back to Jakarta. I was sad, tired but dream I would come
back to this place again. I would not forget this trip. I love Disneyland!
